Sounds plausible.
Speaking of plausible, you know what sounds plausible to me right now? Spending more time in New York. Well, "plausible" is relative, I assume, but more NYC time would be fabulous after the couple days I had there this past weekend.
The impetus for the trip was to celebrate my aunt Sterling's big 6-0 from Saturday-Sunday. However, I was able to sneak away (well, not exactly sneak...mom's can't really do that sort of thing) on Friday afternoon and spend Friday-Saturday with one of my best girls from Elizabethtown. I'd love to share some pictures, videos, and a bit about my trip! Media brought to you by Instagram (the object of all my affection), Vine, and YouTube via the movie camera on my iPhone.
I drove to Trenton (NJ)...
And took the NJ Transit train from Trenton to NYC.
When I got to NYC, I walked from Penn Station to Radio City to meet my girlfriend.
We met up to enjoy an awesome dinner at The Plaza Food Hall and a lot of gabbing. We just couldn't say it all fast enough. Love a friend like that! We barely noticed the fact that the weather felt more like the end of January than mid-April.
On Saturday morning, we took a cab Downtown, and were treated to some incredible graffiti where we got dropped off.
My girlfriend and I parted ways after breakfast, but then I met up with my mom, 2 aunts, and 3 cousins to keep the festivities going. Busy weekend so far!
Our little gang of lady family members walked a lot between Saturday & Sunday!
Among lots of other things, we walked on the gorgeous High Line, shopped at Chelsea Market and on 5th Avenue, and managed to squeeze in some amazing meals...and drinks :) The weather was the best on Sunday and I got some beautiful pictures as we went on our way, in Herald Square...
and on 5th Avenue.
I rode back to Trenton, and drove home to PA...until next time!
I would say it was a very Happy 60th Birthday celebration for Sterling. We had a LOT of laughs, and now a lot of us have laryngitis.
Hungry for more? Follow me on Instagram and Twitter at handmade_mama and search for #mamainthebigapple. All of my pics (many more than I included in this post) from the weekend use that tag. I was inspired by my friend Michael, at Inspired by Charm, to give all my NYC pics the same tag to make them easier to find! All of his photos from his trips to the Big Apple are #IBCinNYC on Instagram. If you're not already following him on multiple social media platforms, you should!
Like Vine? You can follow me there. Look for Maggie Mitchell.
I hope you've got a fun trip on your horizon, too. Have you been to New York City? Do you like it? Let's talk!

I feel like I took this walk along with you!! Looks and sounds like you had the time of your life :)
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome, Keith! The perfect weekend! I'm hoping none of my readers had relapses of vertigo while they were watching those videos of me walking!
